The Opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a full-time Maintenance Worker to join our team at Finger Lakes Gaming in Farmington, New York. As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance duties on the racing and training tracks, in the stable area and all outdoor areas of the property. Responsibilities

• Perform agriculture and heavy equipment operations for track and grounds maintenance

• Conduct simple carpentry tasks, including replacing stall boards and repairing horse stalls

• Handle occasional painting tasks as required

• Maintain outdoor areas by mowing lawns, removing weeds and brush, and performing various outdoor tasks

• Ensure tools, equipment, maintenance shop, and vehicles are kept clean and in good operating condition; operate equipment for winter snow removal as needed

• Operate motorized vehicle when necessary

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or TASC preferred

• Minimum of 1 year of previous experience in general maintenance or agricultural equipment operation

• Ability to drive and operate large trucks, tractors, and construction equipment

• Must have general knowledge in the use of simple tools and equipment used in building trades

• Ability to understand and follow OSHA guidelines

• Must have a valid driver’s license, pass an MVR check, and take a drug test

Physical Requirements

• Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools

• Ability to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor

• Ability to lift 85 pounds occasionally

• Visual acuity sufficient for reading and performing repairs

• May work around thoroughbred horses
